So long, and thanks for all the crits... 07/08/2010
Sad to say, but THE FANTASTICKS is no more. Thanks to all of you who left comments about the show. It's a real shame it had to close so soon, but that's the nature of the business. We don't go into this profession with our eyes closed to the power of the critics, but it's always a little shocking to be burnt this badly. Still, on the whole the cast came out unscathed and too right. This was a cast chock full of talent, and one I was so proud to be onstage with every night. I shall miss in particular trying to guess what would emerge from Edward Petherbridge's mouth each performance. What an extraordinary man and actor. Onwards and upwards then friends. To the next one, whatever that may be... CommentsWhat a shame...

I went twice and loved both performances - I learned (yet again) that I need to ignore the critics, because I never seem to agree with their "learned" observations. Everyone's performance was brilliant and the show was marvelous - you all did great work and should be enormously proud of the effort. Please keep us updated - we'll want to know what you're going to bless us with next.

It was criminal it closed so early. Don't know why the critics had to be so nasty about it too. So they didn't get it? Us punters who saw it did, and really loved it. I suggest they stick to Mamma Mia in future.....
